Fresh vegetables from the garden? Sounds good, but it remains a dream for most people. Not for Sandrine… this French lady and her husband live on a farm in the Luxembourgish village Munsbach. And because her “garden” of many hectares is a bit bigger than your average vegetable patch, she’s been selling her own fruit and vegetables since 2012.
She is also a qualified landscape gardener, gained experience with Co-labor and is familiar with (organic) food production. Her aim is to educate her customers to eat consciously: seasonal, local and organic. Products on offer are therefore labeled so you know which are organic, and which were home grown. Besides vegetables and fruit, Sandrine also sells milk from the brand “D’fair Mëllech“, eggs, honey, homemade jams and other local products.
Tuesdays and Fridays take the format of a weekly market. On Thursdays, you get a basket filled with green delights; these “Paniers” (or baskets) contain seasonable products specially selected by Sandrine. About 160 customers are currently enjoying Sandrine’s selections, collecting their baskets from the farm, or from her depot in Cessange (26, rue de Cessange; 1320 Luxembourg). Deliveries can also be arranged. With Sandrine, you will always be surprised with new vegetable discoveries.
