Culinary treasures from Greece.

Whitewashed houses with domed blue roofs on small islands, surrounded by azure water….Greece as you remember it from your holidays – and how Christos loves it! This young Greek recently opened his shop “Pandemos Agora“ in Luxembourg-city. The unusual shop design will remind you instantly of your holidays.

Quality products, predominantly Greek, are displayed on the curved shelves. Christos showed us a few highlights, including olive oil from “The Governor“. Produced from the olives of Corfu, it is one of the healthiest olive oils in the world. Another olive oil is sold in clay vases, modeled on those used by Olympic athletes to transport oil thousands of years ago. And of course there’s Greek wine. Christos offers wines made from very old grapes, currently enjoying a strong revival in Greece. These include Assyrtiko (white wine from Santorini) and Agiorgitiko (red wine from the Peloponnese).

Then there is the old traditional spoon jam, a jam with large fruit pieces; Pandeomos Agora sells the “Spoon Sweet“ brand. This jam is served to guests as a sweet to be eaten with spoons, but it is also delicious on its own, or with natural yoghurt – a dream! You should also try the products from the fresh foods counter. Without a doubt the most noteworthy is the moussaka.

Not edible, but just as remarkable, are the toiletries from the greek brand “philab“. Or even more exclusive, there is the German brand “Julisis“. These high end products use precious metals such as gold and silver in the production process.

Good Idea : You can find lots of extraordinary and original ideas for presents. We particularly liked the 80% thyme honey from “The Family Beez“;  you can also buy handmade wooden boxes for the honey modeled on Greek beehives.
Many of their products are organically certified.
