Celebrate with Belgium!

by Good Idea | Comment

Many Luxembourgers escape their daily routine by shooting up north direction Belgian coast. But don’t expect the Grand Duchy to be quiet as a mouse! As our Belgian neighbors celebrate their national day on July 21st, it is reason enough for us to share a few great tips for spending a relaxing and entertaining day in Luxembourg.

Head up to Ettelbrück for a day of food, fun and frolic at the funfair held on the parking grounds „Däich“ – or strike a bargain at the street fair sale „Braderie“, held in the city center! Another Braderie takes place in Dudelange (on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Comic fans can look forward to the 19th International Comics Festival held on July 21st and 22nd in Contern, where over 100 stalls will exhibit comics and related memorabilia!

There is a flea market on Place d’Armes in Luxembourg City. Music lovers can amuse their senses at Capital’s “Blues’n Jazzrallye” festival on July 21st. This popular open-air festival attracts over 20,000 music fans each summer to the city center, Grund and Clausen areas. For all you art lovers: Get up and close to the master pieces of Belgian artist Wesley Meuris, whose art work is currently on exposition at the Casino Luxemburg (city center).
