Granted, London and New York’s landmarks are only available as decorations in the “All English Bookstore”, but at your feet you will find a mosaic of the cultural and intellectual history of the English-speaking nations: classics alongside new releases, non-fiction between novels, thrillers amongst poems.
The “All English Bookstore”, between Place Guillaume (Knuedler) and the Grand Ducal Palace, is the focal point for all those who love to read English books. And so you will meet all types of avid book readers here: Luxembourgers, expats and tourists. The idea for the shop came from one of the oldest family businesses in Luxembourg – the Ernster bookshop. Since 1889 the Ernster family has known that books can build bridges between cultures.
Hence the “All English Bookstore” offers books from and about Luxembourg; currently cookbooks with Luxembourgish recipes translated in English are in high demand amongst tourists. This is one way that the Ernster family can make sure that Luxembourg and its many traditions are a little bit better known around the world.
