« Buergbrennen » is an old luxembourgish and pagan tradition during which the villagers burn big wood crosses to celebrate the end of the winter. On February, 21, 2010 join the celebrations and taste hot spicy wine and a bratwurst! In some villages it is the most recently married couple which has the honor to set fire to the “Buerg”.

Good Idea : In the majority of the Luxembourgish localities, the "Buergbrennen" will take place. Inform you at your commune! Most of the time, the "Buergen"are set up by local associations, which organize sometimes also a torchlight procession up to the "Buerg".
