In Luxembourg, biking is lots of fun: 23 cycling paths and tracks totalling 600 km join the different regions of the country. And if you choose a flat route, chances are you will be passing L.S Sports in Schieren. This specialist cycling shop is right next to the cycling path PC15 that connects the center of Luxembourg with the region of Ettelbrück.
Spread over 300 m², you will find a vast selection of bikes including mountain bikes, racing bikes, trekking bikes, children’s and folding bikes. E-Bikes are also available. The owner, Pierre Linden, himself an avid cyclist, is convinced that in the future E-Bikes will become a popular form of road transport. You will also find all the adequate clothes and gear you can possibly need, from jerseys to technical accessories and a small assortment of athletic nutrition.
Pierre and his team are real experts when it comes to two wheels. In the in-house workshop they do all kind of repairs and maintenance. By the way, springtime is maintenance time. What do the experts think you should pay attention to?
- Check the tread and the air pressure of your tires (with an E-Bike for example the distance covered can fall by 30%, if the air pressure is only 1 bar below the optimal value).
- Check your tires for cracks (if your tires are more than five years old you should change them)
- Clean and oil the chain
- Check the brakes (you should change them if they are old or if you see rubber clogs from wear and tear).
Good Idea wishes you lots of cycling fun!
